Human Nature, Australia’s #1 selling vocal group with 23 platinum albums and millions of records sold worldwide, brings “The Motown Show” to Hennepin Theatre Trust’s State Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. The chart-topping male quartet is embarking on a U.S. tour visiting nearly 40 cities to celebrate the success of their special, “Human Nature Sings Motown with Special Guest Smokey Robinson,” which aired nationwide in December 2011 on PBS stations including Twin Cities Public Television.

Their new album, “The Motown Record,” to be released in March, features their distinctive take on classics such as The Four Tops’ “Baby I Need Your Loving,” The Temptations’ “My Girl” and The Supremes’ “Stop In the Name of Love.” Tickets are on sale now. By arrangement with Universal Music Entertainment, every ticket buyer will receive a code to download three free songs from Human Nature’s upcoming album.

Hailing from Sydney, Human Nature features brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney and fellow high school classmates Phil Burton and Toby Allen who were captivated with the sounds of soul and gospel and succeeded in perfecting their a cappella doo-wop sound. Their first record, “Telling Everybody,” (1996) went four times platinum and led to international stints opening for Celine Dion and Michael Jackson.

Human Nature performed the Australian national anthem at the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 and their 2005 Motown tribute, “Reach Out,” went five times platinum, attracting the attention of Smokey Robinson. The famed singer/songwriter recorded “Get Ready” with the quartet and presented them in an exclusive booking at Las Vegas’ Imperial Palace, where they have played to sold-out crowds for the past two and a half years. Their PBS special, a telecast of the group’s Las Vegas show filmed by longtime Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich, showcased the group backed by a nine piece band telling stories of the greatest Motown hits.

Celebrate 40 years of the Australia New Zealand American Association of Minnesota, and a combined celebration of Australia Day and Waitangi Day. The evening affair will begin with a cocktail reception followed by a plated dinner and an evening of reminiscing, special guests, a silent auction, and fun. The Hon Roger Price, Consul-General of Australia, will be in attendance as guest of honor, as will Chris Knepler,Post Manager & Senior Investment Director, Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). Chris manages Midwest operations for the Australian Trade Commission and works to deepen and broaden Australia-U.S. economic relationships in the region.  Priority sectors include clean energy, advanced manufacturing, professional services and industrial biotechnology.

Aussie Motown tribute band Human Nature will be performing at the Hinckley Grand Casino Events & Convention Center on Saturday Sept 24.
Over the past 22 years, Human Nature have forged one of the most successful careers in Australian music history. Having released eight albums and numerous singles, the band has sold millions of CD’s around the world.

Starting their careers as the all boy band the 4Trax Brothers Andrew and Michael Tierney joined with Toby Allen and Phil Burton in 1989 while at Hurlstone Agricultural High School representing their school in a combined regional school “spectacular” concert at the Bankstown Town Hall.

After an initial stint as buskers, ’4Trax’ started performing in clubs and built up a following winning several awards as club entertainers. They started sending demos off to record labels. The story goes that the band was signed to Sony Music Australia after walking into the office of Sony CEO Denis Handlin and performing an a cappella version of “People Get Ready”..the boys were signed on the spot, changed their name to Human Nature and the rest as they say…is history.
